Description

 

Welcome to Integrating Technology in Adult ESL! This free professional development series is a part of TESOL 2008's Electronic Village Online. In this 6 week session, we hope to have everyone:

Target Audience

The target audience for this group is teachers who are working with literacy level adult ESL students. These students often are enrolled in free federally and/or state funded classes. They may have limited formal education and little or no technology experiences.

 

Weekly Content

 

Week 1: January 14 - January 20

 

Hello. This is a week of introductions and familiarization of Yahoo Groups as well as this web site. We'll be doing the following activities this week:

Moderators and Co-moderators

 

Ms. Guckert holds an MA in Foreign Language Education/ ESL from the University of Texas-Austin. She has served over 20 years in secondary/adult ESL education and community technology as a teacher, and technology program coordinator. She currently is the Technology Coordinator for The Education Institute at Texas State University-San Marcos.

 

Ms. Meredith holds an MA in Speech from Northwestern University. After a career as a technical writer and editor, she got her secondary teaching certificate and taught math, language arts, and ESL in grades 6–12 for five years. She has been teaching ESL in the Austin Community College Adult Education Department since 2004.
